Learn more about URBMS, our mission, and our dedicated community initiatives.
Uttara Rajajinagara Brahmana Sabha (URBMS) is a registered organization under the Societies Act of India, 1975, committed to the welfare and advancement of the Brahmin community across India. We are proudly affiliated with the Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha.
Our elders laid the foundation of this Brahmana Sabha with just 10 dedicated members. Today, with your unwavering support, cooperation, and generous contributions, we are proud to have grown into a vibrant community of over 1000 members. As we celebrate the successful completion of 43 years and step into our 44th year, we look forward to your continued support in the years to come. We also celebrated our 40th anniversary (2021) in a grand and memorable manner.
Our Sabha has been actively organizing a variety of public, community, and cultural programs over the years. These include medical camps, matrimonial meets, Bombe Atta, Bharatanatyam Dance, Ashada Lakshmi Pooja, Shravana Sambhrama, Samohika Lalitha Sahasranama during Dasara, Women’s Day celebrations, Spiritual lectures, and Observances of Madhava Jayanthi, Maha Shivaratri, and Shankara-Ramanuja Acharya Jayanthi, among others.
Among all our initiatives, our flagship programs—Pratibha Puraskara and Scholarship support for economically weaker students of the Brahmin community—hold a special place, reflecting our commitment to education and empowerment.
In the past year, we proudly launched a new initiative—Samohika Upanayana—where five vatus were selected to undergo the sacred Brahmopadesham, performed with full adherence to Vedic traditions and and rituals. The event was honoured by the presence of the AKBMS President and the esteemed MLA of the Malleswaram constituency. It received an overwhelming response and wholehearted support from the community, and we are pleased to announce that this will now be an annual feature in our Sabha’s calendar.
Another memorable highlight was the celebration of Founder’s Day in December 2024. This special occasion brought together all our past office bearers and key supporters, who were warmly felicitated for their invaluable contributions to the growth of our Sabha. As part of the event, we also proudly unveiled the 2025 calendar, which includes important cultural and astrological details relevant to our community. More than just a planner, this calendar stands as a symbol of our enduring traditions and shared heritage.
